Silent Tears
So This is How by Émile-Antoine Bayard (1870)
Beneath lies a hidden secret
by a liar with a sweet tongue
comes with the untold story
from a mask worn behind the portrayal
A seeking fragile heart falling for
the seductive spelling prey
heavy weight on the burden
bring to the dispirited soul
Shattered hope falls into
a tiny piece of glass
from a betrayal hand of
cruelty crucifies to death
Pain seeping through the vein
with a sharp stabbing knife
going through the surface flesh
render with aching bleeding deep
Leaving a broken heart with a
layer-cut skin and salt wound
with a promise of deceitful words
by the trapped confusion and agony
The echo of crying pain brings
a cast of teardrops flows
leading to the devastating grief
by the bitter love of disgrace
